Neurological Rehabilitation:

Our team of highly skilled neurological specialists treat a number of neurological conditions in both adults and paediatrics. Initially you will have a detailed assessment to identify your specific problems and how they affect your life, and then an individual treatment programme will be structured to meet your needs and goals.

Part of the treatment may incorporate all or some of the following:

  • Re-education of normal movement patterns

  • Improving skeletal alignment and muscular activity

  • Balance re-education

  • Enhancing quality of gait, and ability to stand

  • Developing both fine and gross motor skills

  • Advice to relatives and carers

  • Specific tailor made stretches and exercises

It is also possible for some of our therapists to attend your gym or leisure centre to assist with setting a programme in the gym and pool for you to follow.

Our aim is to promote independence, quality of life and fulfilment.

With paediatrics the therapy is aimed to maximise their potential, promoting their physical development. The normal milestones such as sitting, crawling and walking will be our aim. Many children with neurological dysfunction will need extra help and more time to achieve these goals. We work very closely with family and nursery schools and schools to facilitate a uniform approach.
